Feb 2 ~ Venus Enters Aries ... And now moves toward a Retrograde covering the ground which will be reviewed between March 6th (retrograde) and April 18th (direct - shadow period ends mid-May). The whole point of any planet going Retrograde is to bring up the issues of its domain, in Venus' case, values, priorities and resources. It brings these issues to the surface, essentially getting your attention in a way that (hopefully) will prompt you to want to explore more deeply (retrograde) before charting the course of future forward movement (when direct and out of shadow) when you will have acquired more clarity and sure-footedness. Venus has an 8 year Cycle, and last did this (Retrograded in Aries) in March 2001, so how have your values evolved over the last 8 years where your identity, independence and courage are concerned? How would you like to evolve over the next 8 years? Venus energy focuses your attention on what you deeply value or what you give your resources to, which tells the Universe what you truly value. How did you spend your time, energy and money over the last cycle? Re-Birth ~ Re-Invent Your Self ~TOP~
Aries Energy ... Aries is primarily about identity and birthing of the new, it is the energy that guides our first steps in to ANYTHING (when we're talking astrology). It represents a new beginning, independence and courage in the face of the unknown, it's fiery and passionate and loves to initiate EVERYTHING. So consider this next 4 months (Feb - Jun 2009) your literal and figurative RE-BIRTH (Aries) where your values and priorities (Venus) are concerned. What is most important to you has likely shifted dramatically since 2001, and will shift again by 2017.
We are shifting our consciousness from 'survival mode' to 'self-preservation'. Micro-to-Macro Self-Preservation ~ this means, on a personal level, you will have to be completely responsible for who you are and what you think, say and do ... and on a collective level, we must remember our global *SELF* and its preservation, as both are intricately woven together. We are dual Beings, so let's multi-task people! Be Independent but remember how Inter-dependent we all are. Be courageous by trusting that - what/whoever is in front of you is but a reflection of YOU. Take care of Self in a healthy, balanced way, so you are strong, willing and able to serve others in a healthy, balanced way.
Re-Invent Your Self ... You may have felt the subtle nudge from the Universe (for some time now) that your Being (Self/Aries) and your priorities / values (Venus) *MUST* get in alignment, well, now the nudge will not be so subtle. Venus in Aries is a golden opportunity to RE-Invent Your Self and you are going to want to be fully anchored sooner than later because we are also approaching some major Aries energy collectively. It will be vital that you are clear about who you are - at your CORE - so that you can maintain an authentic identity of your own when the collective gets its 're-invention'. Who *ARE* you? Do your thoughts, words and deeds reflect your deepest, core values? Do you spend your resources of time, energy and money on memories or materials?

Venus, Earth & Global Cycles ... The global shifts are so massive, there must be some time here and there that you check in on SELF, and make sure you are not being blindly led down a path you don't belong on, nor the one you choose. When you're caught up in survival mode, your senses and perceptions become skewed and you see/feel things that aren't there and miss the blessings that ARE. When you are constantly chasing something just out of your reach, life slips right through your fingers. When you spend more time running "out there" and less time being still "in here", you can lose your balance and fall. Venus reminds us that ~ ALL LIFE IS INTER-CONNECTED. Venus works very closely with Mother Earth, sometimes they're called Sisters, and we are moving toward *LEADING* with our Feminine aspects of our natures, these two lead the way. Venus is working with the Sun and Earth in a way that she only does every 113-130 years. These alignments create portals through which we, as individuals and a collective, can choose to activate and move through consciously or not. This particular portal is restoring balance between Masculine and Feminine within and around us. At this time, we should activate our Inner-Feminine energy, which knows instinctively how to clear a space with an intention, extend the invitation for all that you need, desire and deserve and then allow Intuition to guide the next move. The Feminine Way of getting things done is no better or worse than the Masculine Way of getting things done, it is just *DIFFERENT*. And Feminine Venus in the Masculine sign of Aries suggests we are at a point of ... BALANCE ... BALANCE OF EBB/FLOW ~ YIN/YANG ~ UP/DOWN ~ INNER/OUTER ~ ABOVE/BELOW. If *ANY* living thing is imbalanced in *ANY* way, it affects us *ALL* ... sooner or later.

~ Acting 'hard' when 'soft' would get better results (get more bees w. honey) ~ Being competitive in love ~ Acting like a petulant, spoiled child (saying things you can't take back) ~ Game-Playing / Manipulation ~ Expecting those you love, to PROVE their love / testing them unnecessarily ~ Being confrontational in an effort to get your way ~ Acting rashly in the heat of the moment ~ Creating struggle (unnecessarily); feeling like everything has to be a fight ~ Completely disregarding those near and dear to you ~ Being impulsively cruel ~ Tit-for-Tat mentality and a desire for vengeance (a toxic version of justice)
